NYC City Proof Twistable Perfecting Lip Primer

Howdy Folks!!!

When I was checking out the NYC display the other day I stumbled upon this product. I was very intrigued. I am always looking for a good lip product.

NYC City Proof Twistable Perfecting Lip Primer
in the shade 001 Universal
CVS $2.99

off of the website:
Preps & primes lips
Makes lips feel smoother
Helps to visually reduce lines & ridges
Helps lip color wear longer
Helps to set/seal lip color

When I was first looking at this in the packaging I was wondering how this was going to work because it looks light pink and frosty. So when I did first swatch it I was like oh my this is super frosty. I don't like frosty lips!! On first contact I knew this was going to be awful. It is extremely gritty. Therefor every time I pressed my lips together I could feel it.
This claims to help reduce lines and ridges. On my lips it settled in every crease. I exfoliated my lips before hand so that I could start off with a smooth canvas but it looked bad like my lips were dry and cracked. It did help my lipstick color look a little brighter and it did help it last longer but it was so uncomfortable. When I did take off my lipstick my lips were so dry and chapped. I honestly hated this stuff like really hated it. My poor lips!! I wanted this to be amazing because I love NYC lip products!!!

Have y'all seen this yet? Have any of y'all tried it out? Let me know what you think.

New NYC CityProof 24HR Eyeshadow and Primer

Howdy gals and guys!!!

A few days ago I was walking around CVS checking out the makeup. I noticed the NYC display was getting updated. They had loads of new stuff and I was super excited.
What really got my attention was the shadow sticks and the primer.

CVS I paid $2.99 for each

CityProof 24HR Eye Primer

001 Universal

From website:
- Ultimate prep for creaseless, more vibrant shadow.
- Primes the eye lid for more intense eye shadow color & better eyeshadow wear : extends the wear of eye shadow by up to 4 hours longer

Having an eye primer in stick form that you don't have to sharpen is smart. I just love the packaging. As for the product its not one of my favs. It goes on easy and blends out well but you have to be fast because it dries quick. The formula is on the dry side and you need to warm it up with your fingers. I did use a brush to blend it out but I felt like it left the product looking patchy. I felt that I got more of even application using my finger. This does give a nice base to shadows and to the shadow pencils if you can get an even coat but I did only get 4 hours of wear before it started creasing. It also has a strange smell.

CityProof 24HR
Waterproof Eyeshadow

Top: Empire State Building- Steel grey color
Bottom: Murry Hill Champagne- Gold Champagne color

From website:
24HR wear
Waterproof
Crease-proof
Homogeneous application
Gives intense color pay-off
Vibrant color
Quick & easy to use
Glides easily
Smooth application
Smear-proof & Tear-proof

I tried these on top of the primer and without. Either way it didn't apply super smooth. Again I tried applying it with a brush and with my finger. Applying it with my fingers does give it a better look but not much. I tried it as a base for eyeshadow and also just as a cream shadow. It did an ok job as a base for shadows but nothing amazing. I just wanted these to go on smooth and creamy but they didn't. They were dry and creased and had a bad smell.

Over all I am disappointed with both of these products. They weren't creamy or smooth and they didn't last. I had extremely high hopes for these but we can't win them all.

A Few More Wet N Wild Goodies!!

Hello my lovely readers!!

As I said in  last post I love looking for new displays. This one has been out for a while but you know I had to buy a few products. These are not necessarily all new. Some are repackaged and redone of already existing products.

Everything is each 99 cents.
I found this at CVS

WildShine Nail Color in Grape Minds Think Alike
Purple, maroon color.

I like the new bottle. Its kind of interesting. This color did go on a little streaky. I put on a top coat and it looked much better. It dried really quickly. Which is good for an impatient person like me. I did get over a week of wear with few chips. I really like this color.

Silk Finish Lipstick

This new packaging is nice and sleek. It does feel a little flimsy but what do expect for 99 cents. The formula is creamy and goes on easily. I don't get more than a few hours of wear but I can just reapply. I also don't have any problems with my lips being dry after I take it off.
The Fuchsia with Blue Pearl does remind me of NYC's Blue Rose lipstick which is one of my favorite lipstick ever. Its a fuchsia with a blue sheen. The color Will You Be With Me? is a nude mauve color that is perfect for everyday use.

I am so happy I picked these up. For the price they are excellent products!

New NYC Lip Lacquer and Satin Matte Expert Last Lip Color

Hello Everyone!! I hope your day is going great! I know mine is.

I love going into the store and discovering a new display of makeup goodies. I think the people at my local Walgreens and CVS think I am up to no good because I walk in look at the displays and if nothing is new I just walk out. They kind of just look at me like what on earth are you doing. One day I saw this NYC lip product display and I was like YESSS!!

I found this at CVS a few weeks ago.

I picked up 2 New Satin Matte Expert Last Lip Color $1.87 each
and 1 New Expert Last Lip Lacquer $3.99

Expert Last Lip Color

Top Creamy Mauve
Bottom Red Suede

Creamy Mauve

Red Suede

The original Expert Last Lip Colors are one of my all time favorite lip product ever. (Read review here.) Since they came out with a new "Satin-Matte" finish of course I had to try it out.

The packaging is made out of plastic and the lipstick itself does not roll all the way down. Also no where on the tube does it say it has a satin matte finish. Its only on the plastic wrapper. The finish says its a satin-matte finish but to me its way to creamy to be matte. Oh yeah it also smells weird. Kind of like play makeup.
Other than that I love these. They are creamy, dreamy smooth. They glide on with little effort. The Creamy Mauve one is kind of not my favorite color but the Red Suede is GORGEOUS!! The lasting power is decent. I got a few hours of wear nothing really long. The red one does stain a little bit but you can remove it with a wipe.

Expert Last Lip Lacquer $3.87

Color in Big City Berry

I didn't have really high hopes for this. I thought it was going to be some cheap lip gloss type product that was going to be awful. Boy was I wrong. You instantly know that this is special. It applies buttery soft and smooth. The crazy thing is it is so lightweight. You can talk and do whatever and it doesn't feel sticky or thick. You know sometimes you wear a lip product and you can't even talk without it being uncomfortable. Well not with this. This color is also intense. You only need one swipe to give you full on color. I'm telling you this feels like a very expensive product. I absolutely love how it feels on my lips. I get a few hours of wear with eating and drinking. When it does wear off it doesn't leave my lips dry at all. Which I love because my lips are already dry I don't need something to dry them out worse.

Over all I'm really impressed with these new products. They are inexpensive and they come in lots of different colors.

Have any of you tried these out yet? Let me know what you think.
