Rant !!

Hi Everyone and Thank You for reading!!

I really haven't been inspired to write lately. I had a bad experience at Sephora around Christmas and it has left me questioning my blogging and my YouTube channel. I have been asking my self why do I do this. The experience at Sephora left me thinking that people think way to highly of them selves. I love makeup and beauty but that's just it its MAKEUP and at night when we wash it of we are all the same. I also hate how they belittle people and think that they are performing rocket science again its MAKEUP and people should be able to wear it anyway they like. I don't know if I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill but it has left me wondering if I'm doing the right thing. I go into makeup stores and nobody ever wants to help. When they finally do help they treat me like I'm an idiot for not knowing something. I seldom tell anyone that I am a beauty blogger because when I do they think I'm stupid. This has happened to me several times and I'm pretty fed up. The people in the beauty industry should be there to help you feel better about your self. I know when someone that knows that I love makeup asks me for pointers I always give my opinion and then help them with whats best for them. Lets remember people beauty is only skin deep.

Has this happened to anyone else if so comment down below and tell me about it!!

  1. I recently found your blog and just the other day wondered why I hadn't seen a new post. I read A LOT of beauty blogs and yours by far is better then the beauty bloggers who get the endorsements and all the freebies the world can give. It is real practical every day women information and knowledge with a best friend vibe (trust me I mean this as a complete compliment) I think the issue you ran into at Sephora is those women are like high school beauty queens who were going to have an awesome MUA career on the run ways. Seeing London, New York, etc. I know that sounds hateful but I think we raise women post feminism to be petty catty and jealous of everyone who we wish wasn't better, nicer, prettier, then us. I have not had this issue locally except at MAC once but I know of others in the BBlogging circle have had your experience and it is sad. We should be building each other up instead of tearing each other down.

Interestingly I read an article where Rose McGowan said the movie industry is the same issue. Women do not support each other.

  2. Olivia, please don't stop blogging...don't let anyone steal your joy and the joy that you find in beauty blogging! I have recently started following you and I enjoy your posts and your youtube videos! It is impossible for any of us to know everything about every product or technique in this industry and getting advice and sometimes stumbling along the way helps us to grow and learn. I'm so sorry that you had to experience such nastiness. Please keep blogging!

  3. Oh and I have found an awesome beauty blogging community on FB. There was some recent drama BUT the girls that are in charge of it now did a great job transitioning us all away from the drama and to a new group. I encourage anyone to join.
